This page contains a variety of information relating to Saltcoats Library and we hope it will assist you in understanding the rationale used when developing the proposed, amended opening hours for the branch.

The Service has used a variety of sources of information to make informed choices on the proposed new opening hours in order that the current provision can continue with the least possible impact on the local community.

Our key priority is to the library members who borrow our resources. Wherever possible, the revised times have been built around minimising the impact on borrowers. The various community groups and key partners who use the space to meet or deliver events and activities are also a high priority and we have done all we can to take their needs into consideration.

We have identified some instances where changes proposed may impact a group who use the space. We will meet each group impacted to explore options including them key holding or if a switch of days may be a possibility.
