I don't like being part of a money-saving exercise knowing that North Ayrshire Council is forcing its library staff through a consultation process to re-apply for their jobs. That's very uncomfortable, undemocratic in a supposedly Social Democrat country. I've been using Largs Library for over 10 years. The staff are unfailingly helpful and do not deserve to be treated like this.
Increased opening on Saturday is good, same hours most days is good. Wish you would stay open to 6pm on say Monday Tuesdays, to let the kids get in after school.
It will be difficult for folk who are working to access the library

Just another cost cutting exercise from an extremely badly run council. Is this to pay for the un-enforced 20mph speed limit?
Were it to result in the library being able to be open later on a couple of evenings, I would support the removal of the Wednesday opening.
