(Writing this on behalf of my mum age 95yrs) Reading is my main hobby and library is a lifeline for me. Also if I manage to visit the library myself, I like to have the chance to meet & chat to people.
The library + knitting knatter will give me some to do where to go and get out the house meet people couldn't get out much before as I was a full time carer for my late husband. It would mean a lot if it was kept open not just for me but for my young grandchildren growing up and other people to that want to learn other skills also ppl that like books.
Removal of community space that feels safe and welcoming. Removal of resource for books, study, printing. This will negatively impact on my mental wellbeing. I have a physical disability that means I rely on local, accessible services.
Would miss out on attending tuesday knitting group. This group is well attended on a Tuesday & Friday. Sad to see Tuesday (fortnightly) book bug group no longer available. This too was well attended hope it can be made available to users on another day.
Dreghorn library is a handy location with good parking facilities. The staff are very welcoming and as always happy to help with any enquiry or request. My children feel happy and confident to access the library independently and they would not be able to do this in another library. I do not feel that we would use the library service as frequently if Dreghorn library was not open. I know that a range of other groups, including local schools, use the library in Dreghorn, and this would not be able to happen if the library was closed, and the next closest library would be too difficult to access.
I do not see a problem with myself but it may affect others as it would appear that one of the proposed days for closure i.e. Tuesday appears to be as I previously stated one of the busiest days of the week for issues and footfall. In addition after the closure of the Library in Bourtreehill neighbours of myself are now faced with a walk/drive to Dreghorn and in some cases due to poor mobility have to rely on getting to Irvine Library by bus. When I look at the pay structure of North Ayrshire and the renumeration paid to at least seven Execs is in excess of 100K surely they could look at reduction or pay freeze and use the money to fund the Libraries and other worthy Local amenities.

I work full time and my shifts can be until 8pm during the week and some Saturday's. I don't think I would be able to visit Dreghorn library at all.
