Your proposals will reduce my flexibility to use the library when I want to you are also reducing the times my disabled wife will be able to access the library. Your proposals to close the library on the two busiest days for book borrowing does not make sense. Who thinks these things up.
As a council within budget restraints you are in a place to serve the public. Your current proposals do not meet this requirement. Please review your proposals to better serve the public who pay your wages.
I am retired, so able to use the library whenever it suits me. After reading all of the information provided, why has it been proposed that Dreghorn library be closed on a Monday and Tuesday the busiest days? I would imagine that the proposed time table would have an impact on school visits. Over the years the people of Dreghorn have fought long and hard to retain to retain our Library, which was purpose built. I was appalled to learn that the reduced hours was not a proposal , but a fait accompli. It is a shocking decision.
North Ayrshire Council should sell some of their paintings to retain the old library hours, which over the years have already been reduced. Perhaps the two Sir John Lavery, paintings " Little Emily" and "El Espada"!
The Knitting group meets on a Tuesday morning. I often take my grandchildren to the library on a Saturday morning. According to your stastics Monday and Tuesday are the busiest days, why then would you choose to close these days? The local primary school visits the library and these visits usually land on a Monday or a Tuesday.
I attend the bookbug session which is held on a Tuesday at Dreghorn library. It is a great class for my child to learn, play & interact with other kids. My only days off work are a Monday and Tuesday therefor if the Bookbug sessions are scheduled at Dreghorn on the opening days I will no longer be able to attend.
Regarding borrowing books, I can visit the library any day, but a Tuesday closure would be hugely disappointing as this is the day I have my baby granddaughter, and also Bookbugs day. This would be a great loss to both of us, as she loves it, and we both enjoy spending time in this warm, happy environment, with other grans, mums and children and the lovely, friendly, helpful staff.
My family including my young children enjoy visiting and spending time in the library. Our local library access means we don't need to travel a distance for accessing services as required. During school holidays, knowing the library is open on days we can enjoy the service. Compacting hours will increase footfall but impact the quality space in the small library.

This opening on fewer days would mean with other commitments some opening days are unavailable for me.
I would be very dissapointed for myself and community It is used for a lot of different ages and staff are very helpful

Very disappointing to say the least. It will have a big effect on the groups who use the facilities.
