As a van user who cannot get out much I would miss the van and books and the chat. I don't drive anymore so cannot get into Brodick to the library so the van is vital.
I feel that the reduction in the hours and services would limit my ability to access reading materials. I am an avid reader with a variety of interests, but I can't always get to the library due to work and family commitments.
Loss of the Monday van service. Potential staff impact if the van goes out on other days, which may affect services and staff ability to deal with customer enquiries and help with IT issues. Although 5-6pm is quieter, its essential for workers to be able to use facility outside of work hours.
The loss of the Library van service would have a huge impact on many in the community especially the young and older members of the community. Members of U3A (University of the Third Age) Book Group are older and not all of them are able to access the Brodick Building as they do not drive and the limited opening hours make it difficult to get there by public transport. The library van provides an essential service for those people to access books. It is also a vital link for the schools - many of them have limited libraries of their own - and for our children, giving them an invaluable introduction to the world of books available through the library system.
Detrimental, I depend on the library for books and my mental health. Without the library I’d barely see people, please don’t close this library there’s no others nearby! This isn’t Glasgow.

Decrease in the number of days van goes out will be detrimental to Arran residents.
