To reverse declines in biodiversity, it is vital to develop a robust network for nature. Nature Networks are being delivered across Scotland to help achieve this.

The North Ayrshire Nature Network (NANN) Strategy document, approved by Cabinet on Tuesday March 18 2025, will help by driving actions like regenerating the natural environment, empowering communities to play their part and improving habitat quality for wildlife.

Although the Council is spearheading the NANN, we are asking our communities to get involved.

This is an opportunity for community members to provide their feedback on 5 key themes:

1. Spaces For Nature

2. Challenges To Nature

3. Engaging With Nature

4. Green Skills And Nature

5. Economy And Nature

In Person Sessions 

To support the engagement process council officers will be attending community events across the 6 localities to speak to people in person.

Saturday 1st August - Three Town Growers Duck Day - Elm Park Allotments, Ardrossan from 12:30pm

Saturday 8th August - Brodick Highland Games - Ormidale Park - 10am to 5pm

Saturday 8th August - Garnock Valley Lochshore Games Fun Day - Lochshore Park, Kilbirnie - 1pm to 4pm

Wednesday 12th August - Dalry Sports Day - Dalry Public Park - 12pm to 3pm

Saturday 15th August - Irvine Makers Market - Scottish Maritime Museum - 11am to 4pm

Monday 24th August - Irvine Flower Show - Volunteer Rooms - From 1pm

Thursday 27th August - Kilwinning Flower Show - Abbey Hall - From 2pm
