We would like to develop the area for forest school, allowing the family learning programme to continue, with den making, outdoor cooking and growing. The following items would be required: Outdoor tarpaulens £100, den-making kit £120, discovery table £250, explorer kits £150, outdoor cooking equipment £180, outdoor storage £200. This would allow the pupils to utilise these facilities in their learning and in their playtime. In addition, with coordination from the eco group and family learning, they will be able to continue with learning for sustainability and allowing parents/ carers and siblings to access these lessons as after school workshops. These have been very successful in the past at bringing our school community together, but requires some additional funding for the resources. Unfortunately, some our outdoor features were vandalised recently and now need to be secured in outdoor storage.

Activities for young people on Arran

AYF provides lunchtime drop-in at the high school & weekly clubs. These include lacrosse, music jam, guitar tuition, art psychotherapy, girls football, P7 club & youth club. We also provide activities in school holidays including go-karting, paintball, Flip Out, Alton Towers. Funding would support this & ensure our activities remain free to young people. As young people involvement is such a key part of AYF, young people engaged in the project will have a say on how funds would be spent, but costs might include c. £500 on equipment (new Xbox/Switch/Playstation games, board/card games, lacrosse gear, etc) and c. £500 on activities (trips to football matches, cooking ingredients, hall/astro hire for Friday nights etc)

We would like to provide sports clothing to the young people in the Irvine area to allow them to have access to free sporting sessions. As a Sports Council we provide a range of the activities (most are not at capacity) but we currently cannot provide the sports kit to allow some young people the ability to access. We feel under capacity is likely to be due to them not having kit.
Cheap dri-fit sports tshirts = approx £6 -7 per item.
Cheap dri-fit sports shorts =approx £7 per item
We would look to help up to 100-120 pupils and would look to variety of sellers to try and get best deal. From our inital research we can buy this for reasonable price and we would go for best, and cheapest, to get us the most amount of items.
This will then allow them to access the 12-15 sports clubs that we run.

The project is to be able to provide all schools within the cluster with range of sporting equipment to help provide the best quality of clubs possible. It will also provide t-shirts for leaders to make them easy to identify to pupils and staff when taking the club. The t-shirts will help the leaders also feel part of a community and sense of representation when out coaching in the local schools.
T-shirts and printing = £500
Variety of Equipment - £500

We as a Parent Council feel that since lockdown during the pandemic that its more important now than ever that children get to socialise and mix with other children and parties are the perfect opportunity for them to do this, as this ensures that the children and young people to have the opportunity to lead a healthy and active life. We would get the children involved within the planning of the parties so that they're voices are being heard and what their preferences are. the money we are applying for would be spent on as follows:
- Hall to hold the parties and events - £90 x3
- Decorations because a party isn't complete without decorations - £310
- Entertainment - £200
- Catering - £70 x3
With the cost of living crisis people aren't able to have parties or children aren't able to attend parties with the lack of funds within families so if we are able to take the stress away for some parents and support the mental well being of the children in the community then we would love to do so. Our aim is to have a Valentines party for the children in February, Easter party in April and then a halloween party in October next year.

3 teams from the Isle of Arran will travel to the mainland to compete in 3 different competitive tournaments. Young people from Arran rarely get the opportunity to play competitive sport, down to the lack of teams on the Isle of Arran, as well as the challenges around travel. We’re thrilled to be able to offer this to over 50 young people on the island.
To be able to do this, we’d need financial support for the following –
Transport costs (Bus/Boat) - £250 per match
Referee hire - £50 per match
Equipment (bibs/balls/cones/kit) - £100
