West Kilbride Yuletide is an annual event that brings members of the local Community together to celebrate the Christmas. Yuletide 2022 was a great success and brought back a sense of Community togetherness following COVID.
All activities are free therefore everyone can participate and feel included. By providing free activities, it addresses poverty and inequality by making it accessible for everyone, which is important as we are going through a Cost of Living Crisis.
The activities in this event will help to bring back the joy and happiness it brought to all members of the Community. The knock-on effect of this will enhance the Health and Wellbeing of all generations.
West Kilbride Yuletide is an excellent example of inter-generational working and breaks down several barriers that exist between generations and brings a sense of Community Cohesion and Community Spirit.
Description
West Kilbride Yuletide provide a range of activities for all ages and generations. Activities include: Parade, Santa's Grotto, Arts & Crafts, Market Stalls, Pipe Band, Brass Band, Mobile Cinema, Critters, Choirs, Face Painting, Marshmallow Toasting, Mobile Youth Centre and many more.
To enable this to happen, certain legal procedures have to be put in place ie Road Closures for the Parade, Market Opertors Licence for the Market Stalls, Public Entertainment Licence for the Live Music. Without these in place, the activities will not be able to take place which would dilute the effect of the Festival and will not create the same level of Community Spirit.
It is vital funding is available to put these procedures in place as the success of the Yuletide event would be in jeopardy otherwise.
The cost for the Road Closures is £354; Market Operators Licence (3yrs) is £405; Public Entertainment Licence is £384 Total Cost: £1143
Location: West Kilbride Yuletide Group is a group of local people with the common interest of providing a celebration of the Festive Season for the local Community members. The Yuletide Group involve local groups/organisations and local businesses in the planning and co-ordination of the event making it fully inclusive. The Group strive to provide the best possible experience for everyone involved by providing free activities and entertainment so that no one will be left out due to not being able to afford to participate. The Group hope to build on the success of Yuletide 2022 by providing more activities, more street stalls, and an all round magical experience for everyone.
