3TFM broadcasts programmes to the 3 Towns and beyond, from its base at the Frank Sweeney building in Ardrossan. We would like to upgrade some of our studio equipment to enable us to interview guests live on air, and to prerecord interviews. This would enable us to expand on our health and wellbeing output by producing more programmes containing health and wellbeing features with advice and information from local experts, and stories from local people.
Description
Our Synergy Broadcast unit needs an upgrade to enable us to interview guests and to host groups of people in the studio. The upgrade will cost about £100. We'd also like to get some better seating for presenters and guests, which will cost £560. The seating would allow presenters better access to the controls and allow more people to be seated around the broadcast unit.
Location: The radio station has been broadcasting to the 3 Towns and beyond since 2008. We broadcast a range of programmes featuring feelgood music and features about health and wellbeing. Our presenters range in age from teens to senior citizens, as do our listeners. As well as broadcasting on 103.1FM, we feature in online radio apps, and so our programmes can be heard worldwide. Our presenters are all volunteers and we are able to work with local secondary schools to offer experience and training to young people.
