Summary
As part of a larger organisation, we have an annual subscription which has recently increased to over £70 per child. As a result of this we struggle to fund any educational outings, and this places additional pressure on families. The Unit tries to take part in Girlguiding activities, helping girls aged 7–10 find friendship and build confidence. Our weekly subscription is £2.50, which helps cover basic running costs but does not stretch far enough to fund larger activities.

We would like to secure funding to ensure all our Guides have the opportunity to attend at least two Girlguiding activities, including those who may otherwise be unable to go due to family circumstances. These outings are an important part of building confidence, friendship and shared experiences within the unit and those units further afield, we want every girl to be included.
The cost of bus hire is currently £500 (with the possibility of increasing), and there is an enrolment fee, normally around £5 per head, which includes a badge for participating, which we believe rewards the girls for their achievements helps build pride, motivation and a sense of accomplishment. We also hope to provide each girl with food and refreshments throughout the event.
This funding will directly support local girls by removing financial barriers, enabling a memorable outing, and helping them stay engaged, confident and active within Guides.
