Project Summary
Our Unit is part of a larger organisation, despite this we struggle to fund outings. Annual subscriptions have recently increased to over £70 per child, which places additional pressure on families and limits what we can offer. The Unit has been running over 30 yrs, providing girls aged 7–10 with a safe space that promotes friendship, confidence and new interests. Our weekly subscription is £2.50, which helps cover basic running costs but does not stretch far enough to fund larger activities.Project Description
We would like to secure funding to ensure all our Brownies have the opportunity to attend a Christmas pantomime, including those who may otherwise be unable to go due to family circumstances. This outing is an important part of building confidence, friendship and shared experiences within the unit, and we want every girl to be included.
The cost of bus hire is currently £500 (with the possibility of increasing), and pantomime tickets are £27 per child. We also hope to provide each girl with a small sweet goody bag to make the experience extra special.
In addition to supporting the pantomime trip, any funding received will help us encourage the girls to participate in more badgework. Brownie badges cost approximately £1.50 each, and being able to reward the girls for their achievements helps build pride, motivation and a sense of accomplishment.
This funding will directly support local girls by removing financial barriers, enabling a memorable Christmas outing, and helping them stay engaged, confident and active within Brownies.
