We are applying for £1,000 to deliver two free Family Fun Days for families across The Three Towns during the 2027 school summer holidays. We believe this is a great idea because it will provide families with an opportunity to enjoy quality time together, meet other local families and take part in positive activities without the worry of cost.

The school holidays can place additional financial pressure on families. The cost of food, travel and activities can quickly add up, meaning some children may miss out on opportunities that other families can afford. Our events will help remove this barrier and ensure that local children and families are not excluded because of their financial circumstances.

Importantly, the events will be co-produced and co-designed with local families. Early in 2027, we will work with our begin our consultation with families and  the families will decide what activities they would like. We therefore will not predetermine the programme, ensuring local people have a genuine voice in how the funding is used.

The £1,000 will contribute towards activities, entertainment, creative resources, refreshments, equipment and other costs identified through consultation. The funding will directly benefit children and families across The Three Towns, while helping to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, strengthen community connections and create a greater sense of belonging. We believe this project deserves funding because it puts local families at the heart of decision-making and provides a simple but meaningful opportunity for children to enjoy their summer holidays, regardless of their family's income.
