Summary
Each year, a number of activities are held during the Yuletide period for children and young people in the village of West Kilbride. We introduced extra activities last year which was a resounding success. We would like to replicate the extra activities again for next year, 2027, and possibly add more activities. All activities are free and are more accessible for families, children and young people.
Description
During Yuletide and throughout the year at various Community Events, we consult with young people on what activities they would like to see in their local community at Yuletide and throughout the year. Majority of young people would like a Fun Fair but, historically, Yuletide is about increasing footfall for all the local businesses and providing free activities for families. Activities we provide will allow families to participate free of charge and inclusively without having to be put under pressure to spend money they cannot spare. All activities are well received and popular and we hope to be able to offer more family based opportunities going forward into 2027.
Christmas Movie Night (hire of Mobile Cinema and Movie, performance licence, hire of venue, refreshments) - £350
Storytelling Session in WK Library (purchase of Elf Costumes, purchase of selection boxes, refreshments) - £200
Arts & Crafts Materials - £100
Facepainting & Balloon Modelling - £260
