Millport Bothy Bowers

North Coast and Cumbraes
Summary
We're an adult starters music group who meet every week to learn, play and enjoy music. The room we use is very resonant and we plan to improve the sound and surroundings by getting together a group of artists and crafters to create a wall hanging.
Description
We use a small room to to play electric and accoustic instruments and find that the sound can be too resonant at times. We want to bring together a group of creative people to plan, create and hang a tapestry-type wall hanging to improve the sound. We'll bring people together from a number of different craft and art groups on the island to collaborate on the work. We'll all benefit from exchanging ideas, discovering new techniques and building new community networks while improving a community venue for the Bothy Bowers and other musicians and artists.
Costs:
Materials - wool, thread, backing material, hanging rail £850
