Summary

Our garden needs continual maintenance to keep it in top shape, we need to upgrade plants, pathways etc and are now rewilding the top area. We need to celebrate our 10th anniversary with an open day with food and live entertainment.

Description

Beith Community Garden is an established garden. We are assessed by the RHS annually and have received many level 5 with outstanding assessments and hope this can continue.

We strive to engage with young people  can learn about the benefit of being outdoors.

Recently we have purchased the garden for Beith at a cost of £8070.00 including fees and  installed a new front Gazebo we have also installed new gabion baskets with whitre rocks along the rear adge of the car park.

As well as the above project of the 10th Celebration we need to have the unsound walls either repaired or demolished, it has proved difficult so far to gain suitable estimates for the necessary work but we continue our efforts.

The estimate for the celebration will include food both on site and as a thank you to all the great folk who have helped to change the previous dump into the beautiful asset we have purchased for the town.

A rough estimate of the costs of the sit down meal for approximately 20 people at £20/head                                                                                                    =     £400

Party food and drinks on site for the open celebration day                                                                                                                                                          =    £100

Facepainting £150, Story telling £200 plus decorations £50 for the gazebos and garden                                                                                                           =     £400

Upgrading materials for the top area including mesh for the gazebo base (to stop cans being squeezed between the rails).                                                    =     £100

We also need a secure hut or storage area on site where we can store all the necessary tools and equipment essential for the garden upkeep.  Estimate    =     £800

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Total         =   £1800

Note!  We have had one estimate for the demolition of the walls which is over £48,000 but need another 2 valid ones in order that we can approach the lottery for help to make the walls safe for all.
