Largs Music Club
Summary
Largs Music Club is a friendly, inclusive community group where local people come together to learn, play and enjoy music, build confidence, develop skills and perform together.
Description
Largs Music Club welcome people of different ages and abilities, including beginners who may not otherwise have the confidence or resources to take part in music-making.
Participatory Budgeting funding would help us improve the equipment available to members, maintain and repair our existing instruments, and provide essential consumable items such as guitar strings, cables and drum accessories. This will allow people to participate without needing to own or purchase their own equipment and help us keep the club affordable and accessible.
The project will support wellbeing, confidence, social connection and the development of musical skills. It will also enable members who wish to do so to rehearse towards performances at local community events, helping showcase local talent and strengthen community participation.
Anticipated project costs:
Musical instruments and equipment – £500
Repairs and maintenance of existing instruments – £200
Strings, cables, drumsticks and other consumables – £150
Music stands, microphones and small accessories – £150
Total project cost: £1,000

This is an amazing initiative. It creates a space to strengthen community through music and song through learning and sharing knowledge, with support and kindness, and fully deserving of the funding.
