The initiative will provide free personal‑care vouchers for women and girls who are experiencing poverty, trauma, caring responsibilities, unstable housing or social isolation. Many go without even the most basic personal care due to cost‑of‑living pressures. This affects confidence, wellbeing, and the ability to participate in community life.

The project will partner with local salons and beauty practitioners to provide treatments such as wash & cut, blow‑dry, eyebrow shaping and basic beauty services. Vouchers will be distributed discreetly through trusted community channels (schools, youth workers, women’s groups, social workers) and redeemed with dignity — no stigma, no questions.

This small but powerful intervention supports the Community Action theme by reducing isolation, improving mental wellbeing, boosting confidence, and helping women feel able to show up in their communities, education, volunteering or employment. It also strengthens local connections by bringing community groups and local businesses together to support women and girls.

We will offer vouchers in various denominations (£10, £15 and £30) to cover different personal‑care treatments. • Publication materials (posters and printing): £50 Women benefit because many face low income, isolation and limited access to affordable wellbeing services, especially with high living costs and transport barriers across rural and island communities.
