DESCRIPTION
Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2010 U17s is a community football team providing regular training, competitive football and positive opportunities for 20 young people from Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston and the surrounding area.
We are applying for £1,000 to provide suitable branded training wear for our full squad of 20 players.
The cost of participating in football can quickly add up for families through monthly fees, boots, travel and equipment. Requiring parents to purchase additional training wear would create further financial pressure and could result in some young people not having the same clothing as their teammates.
Providing the training wear free of charge will ensure that every player is included, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. No young person should feel different or excluded because their family cannot afford additional teamwear.
Matching training wear will help create a strong sense of identity, equality and belonging within the squad. The players will wear it during training, when attending matches and at community and club activities, representing Ardrossan Winton Rovers and the Three Towns community positively.
The project will support young people’s physical and mental wellbeing by helping them remain engaged in football, build friendships, develop confidence and feel part of a team. It will also encourage pride in the club and local community.
Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2010 U17s operates with its own committee structure under the wider club. The funding will be used solely to purchase training wear and will not contribute towards salaries, routine running costs or retrospective expenditure.

Location: The team is based at Ardrossan Winton Rovers, Anderson Terrace, Ardrossan, and primarily supports young people from Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston and the surrounding Three Towns area. The project will help local young people feel included, connected and proud to represent their community while participating in regular physical activity.
