We will hire a bus to take local families to the Christmas pantomime, providing a fun, festive outing that helps ease some of the financial and emotional pressures of the Christmas season.Project Description
Our project aims to support local families who may find the Christmas period financially and emotionally challenging. We would like to organise a special festive outing to the Christmas pantomime, giving families the opportunity to enjoy a fun, memorable day together without the worry of the associated costs.
We will hire a bus to transport families to and from the pantomime, making the outing accessible and removing the additional cost and stress of arranging transport. Pantomime tickets will also be provided free of charge to the families taking part.
The project will bring local families together, encourage social connection and provide an opportunity for parents, carers and children to enjoy some quality time together during what can be a particularly pressured time of year.
Project costs:
- Bus hire: £400
- Pantomime tickets: £600
- Total project cost: £1,000
The funding will therefore directly cover the cost of transport and tickets, ensuring families can participate without financial barriers.The panto trip can support the Greener Communities criteria by encouraging people to travel together, use shared or public transport, and reduce the number of individual car journeys. It also brings local people together, helping to strengthen community connections and reduce social isolation. Where possible, the trip can support a local venue and promote environmentally responsible choices such as shared transport .

Location: Our Kilwinning Community Panto Outing is a local support initiative designed specifically for families in hardship across Kilwinning and surrounding North Ayrshire communities. Working alongside our existing free school uniform recycling and clothing/household item service, this project removes financial barriers to ensure no family misses out on the joy, connection, and well-being benefits of a shared festive experience.
