Project Summary

The "Kit for Confidence" initiative aims to break down barriers to participation in extra-curricular activities by providing young people with appropriate clothing and equipment. Recognising that lack of access to suitable kit can discourage involvement, this project will offer discreet, targeted support to ensure every young person feels comfortable, confident, and included when taking part in sports, clubs, and other enrichment opportunities out with the school day.

Project Description

Working in partnership with the School, MCR Pathways and other 3rd sector community organisations the project will identify young people who may benefit from support and provide them with high-quality kit tailored to their activity. This could include sportswear, dance shoes, outdoor gear, or sport-specific uniforms. By removing this financial barrier, the initiative promotes equity, boosts self-esteem, and encourages sustained engagement in healthy, positive activities for young people during .

The project also aims to foster a culture of inclusion and wellbeing, aligning with wider goals around youth development, physical activity, and community cohesion. Long-term, it will explore sustainable models such as kit recycling schemes to ensure continued impact.
