To commemorate the Centenary of the Skelmorlie Reservoir Disaster our wee Garden Group adopted a piece of land..sourced a Memorial via the British Dams Society..and have sympathetically planted a Memorial Garden.
Perennial Pathway

Introduce a perennial pathway along the 40m+ main entrance to West Kilbride Primary School. This project aims to bring movement, colour & life by planting & caring for a perennial border. We aim to raise awareness of the benefits of a beautiful green space to the Carers & Parents of the 300+ pupils who use this path every day during term time.

To provide a waypoint on stage 12 of the Ayrshire Coastal Path for walkers and cyclists from Skelmorlie and Largs. Our association will provide a free toilet and refreshment stop so that users can benefit from the physical and mental improvements that outdoor exercise can provide for our community.
BRIDGING THE GAP

The Eilean's Bridge Club, offers the opportunity to members of the community to play the game of Bridge in a supportive and friendly environment regardless of ability or ethnicity. Our fledgling Club has shown that positive relationships between people who may not otherwise have come together have been formed. Thanks to funding by TNL Community Fund, we have been able to offer 36 weeks of free beginners bridge tuition to residents in Millport.

The main aim of the Clyde Coast & Cumbraes Men's Shed is to help improve men’s mental health and wellbeing by providing a venue where men can choose to either work, relax, make and repair things, pursue hobbies and pastimes, get practical help with projects, and share & learn new skills. Perhaps more importantly, it’s a place where men can make new friends, have a cuppa, a chat, a laugh, and get out of the house for a while.

We have set up a volunteer led initiative, community food store where Larder members are given access to groceries through a process that promotes dignity and affordability. To provide the relief of poverty through dignified access to the residents of Largs. Fairlie and Skelmorlie. The advancement of health through the supply of free dental hygiene products and free feminine hygiene products to reduce period poverty. The advancement of environmental improvement by reducing food waste.

Community Roots is applying for support to provide compost, plants, and seeds for both our community garden and for local growers who take part in our sustainable growing programme.
Gardening Tools For Growers

We are a sustainable community garden in Fairlie with 170 members from Fairlie, Largs and West Kilbride primarily. We have had many tools donated over the years since we began in 2008 but with use over time our tools are now needing replaced. We are in need of more useful and ecological equipment such as a battery operated strimmer and lawn mower.

We are launching a new project offering free and subsidised trips and activities for neurodivergent families and carers in the North Coast. Designed by our dedicated volunteers and members to improve wellbeing, community spirit, and promote financial inclusion. We have raised £900 to date and seek £1000 from the PB to help make our project a reality. Including animal handling sessions, family craft events, a trip to Culzean Castle, Edinburgh Zoo VIP lantern experience, and a carers lunch.

Millport Table Tennis Club a satellite club of North Ayrshire Table Tennis Club was successful in being awarded a grant for new tables for Millport from the ARIA fund. The funding is in place for capital equipment only but our project is to seek funding to purchase new equipment. The quote for this is attached below.
