The Vennel Friends Irvine Discovery Group are based at the Vennel Gardens Engagement Hub. The group has been active since May 2023 and has 15 registered members. The group offers a social setting with the opportunity for participants to complete the Discovery Award, comprising of the bronze, silver and gold levels. The Group aims to enhance the lives of all those over 50 years of age and to provide an incentive, through personal challenges, to lead a happy, healthy, and active life.

Bourtreehill and Broomlands community Association (BABCA) would like to apply for funding for to hold a Sixties and Seventies evening next Valentines with food and to give Santa's Grotto a makeover and offer a free activity at Christmas for children good or naughty to visit Santa in his new home at the annual Christmas Fayre and receive a pressie free of charge.

Annually, during January and February Irvine Burns Club invites local primary school Primary 6 pupils (450 in 2024) to Wellwood Burns Centre & Museum to learn about the life of Burns and the pivotal role Irvine played encouraging him to develop as a poet. 2. By entering a “Champion of Champion” event, Primary Schools demonstrate their pupils’ reading and speaking skills, boosting their self-confidence and fostering an appreciation of the Scots language.

Templeton Chair

The project seeks to provide visitors with a more informative and easier accessed display of the chair in which Robert Burns sat while in an Irvine bookshop. This will illustrate the central role of William Templeton, the bookseller, in the development of Robert Burns from apprentice flax dresser to world famous published poet.

The supporters club was founded in 2016 shortly after we formed the Community Social Club within the club to put something back into the community, such as Christmas dinners for pensioners and Christmas parties for children. As in these times of austerity it's hard for most people. The club itself used to pay for it but as stated it's feeling the effects of austerity.
