The project seeks to provide visitors with a more informative and easier accessed display of the chair in which Robert Burns sat while in an Irvine bookshop. This will illustrate the central role of William Templeton, the bookseller, in the development of Robert Burns from apprentice flax dresser to world famous published poet.
Coffee and Connect

Children 1st staff is applying on behalf of group. Our coffee and connect group was originally created by Children 1st at the start of 2023 after they were successful in money for their local community. The reason for the group was because parents and carers felt like there was no opportunity to connect with others in their area. Since then, we have grown into a consistent and strong group who meet on a weekly basis at Children 1st space in Bourtreehill. We all have our own family story
Castlepark Community Garden

We would like funding to replace our shed which was destroyed by vandals, this will allow us to restart community growing initiatives and horticulture projects.

Castlepark Sewing Group

The aim of the knitting and sewing group is to make fidget muffs and fidget aprons/ blankets for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. These are helpful for local nursing homes such as Cumbrae Lodge who give these to residents to help keep them calm and occupied.
Crossing Together Toddler Group

Crossing Together Toddlers was formed in March 2024 following the project being approached by two local new parents who felt there was a need for a group locally in Bourtreehill. Both mums are now lead participants along with our Mission Pioneer in running the weekly sessions on Tuesday mornings for 2 hours at the Relief Mission Centre. The group quickly reached capacity of 40 babies/toddlers who attend with a least one adult per child. The sessions are free to ensure it is accessible to all.
Parent Wellbeing and Health Event

We are a North Ayrshire based mental health charity that supports children and young people to rediscover hope and happiness through theraputic interventions. We intend to run a session for parents of young people that we support to promote physical and mental wellbeing. The Parent Wellbeing and Health Event will be open to adults and parents of young children.
