Summary

The museum needs to improve its permanent displays of information. In particular we have a large wall mounted display of pictures and writing about World War 2 on Arran. The photo's require regular maintenance to stop degrading. We also have an Arran timeline display which needs updating due to recent information and we would like to include an account of the buildings the museum occupies.

Description

Our permanent displays are made by Arran Graphics design printing onto a special medium attached to a hardboard backing. The museum provided the design, pictures and written information to the graphic designer who creates the permanent display. We need four displays of around 1 metre by 2 metres each.

Unfortunately the manager of Arran Graphics is on holiday and unavailable until 17/9/24. This means we cannot provide a more detailed costing in time for the submission date. In this situation we wish to apply for £1000 and if the cost is greater than £1000 the museum would fund the difference. If the cost of the four displays needed is less than £1000 the museum would assess whether other permanent signage can be updated.

Location: The museum is a popular visitor attraction on Arran. It is open for 7 months per year and receives around 12,000 visitors in that period. The museum also provides research facilities and information for people all over the world. In particular for geneology and social history.
