Description
We would like involve the community and public in traditional living history/craft workshops. The money would be used by the Largs Viking festival to have traditional workshops for all groups and ages. Location: Largs
Proposed on behalf of: Largs Viking Festival will contribute to local distinctiveness and boost the local economy by building on the opportunity provided by history and the Battle of Largs of 1263, presenting events that will have wide public and community appeal and cover history, education, entertainment, benevolence and the development of cultural, economic development and tourism links. We also help to lengthen the tourist season to help local businesses to increase their income. Many of our activities are free which help people with limited funds to enjoy the festival. Our Festival runs from Saturday 2nd to Sunday 10th September 23. We would like to give our community and visitors an opportunity to try out some traditional crafts and to learn more about our heritage by doing this. As the activities will be free it will enable anyone who would like to try these crafts without worrying about the cost.
