Proposed on behalf of: Cafe Solace is run by people affected by addiction & is a supportive and safe environment where individuals can come together to share their experiences, connect with others, learn new skills and work towards their recovery goals. The cafe is run by individuals who have personally been affected by addiction and understand the challenges and obstacles that come with the recovery process. There is also a Drop-in activity group & more recently the Recovery Hub based in the Irvine Youth forum Legacy Hub every Friday. The cafe's 3 projects provide a welcoming and non-judgmental space where people can relax and socialize over a meal or hot drink. It also offers various resources and services, such as peer support groups, recovery coaching, and workshops facilitated by lived experienced volunteers that can help individuals develop coping skills, build resilience, and sustain their recovery. Additionally, the cafe, hub & drop in can provide a safe space for people to build relationships and connect with others who have had similar experiences. By fostering a sense of community and providing practical support, the café helps individuals to maintain their recovery, access training & employability skills and achieve their long-term goals.
