Summary

Description

We would like to apply for funding for hiring transport to allow in Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2014 to compete in the Blackpool 2023 International tournament. This tournament will allow our players to play in an international tournament, develop new skills, develop in confidence and promote healthy and active lifestyles. We have raised funding that will cover our free places and our AWR families have all helped by covering cost of tournament and are fundraising on lead up to the event to cover accommodation costs.  The locality PB funding will allow us to hire a bus to take all players and their families to the Blackpool tournament.  For many of the players this will be an amazing experience to be part of a team and supporting their country.

Requested Amount: £1000

Bus Cost £2000

Location: Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2014, Anderson Terrace, Ardrossan KA22 8JP

Proposed on behalf of: Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2014 is a youth football club and we have over 20 players who come along to training 2 nights a week and play in the Sunday morning Ayrshire League. We actively encourage all parent to get involved by going through their football coaching certificate and volunteer as coaches and lead teams during games. Coachesgain their level 1 coaching qualification as well as first aid in sports. Parents who are not interested in coaching can also play their part by raising funds for the club to cover costs of hiring pitches, coaching equipment and help towards players monthly fees when situations arise to help out families so the young people can participate and we can help families overcome any barriers. Our Players Each year we are actively trying to arrange or participate in tournaments to help the players develop and build their confidence in the game. Promoting healthy and active lifestyles encouraging players to get involved with funding. The players are encouraged to come up with funding ideas and to date have completed a sponsored walk and they helped the committee to develop a fun day in Ardrossan for the whole community to come along to and the players have helped by approaching local businesses to sponsor training kits, bags and hats. We as a club promote mental health and wellbeing, we help families by helping reduce financial pressures by fundraising. We organise an annual race night each year to help the club fundraise to support activities by attending football tournaments during Easter and Summer to help develop players skills and confidence and to learn from other teams along the way.
