Kilwinning Rangers / Kilwinning Sports Club – Youth Football Section
Investment project code: 4
Summary
Description
KSC – Youth Football Section would like £1000 towards the provision of essential equipment for our 17 young football teams.
Our football kit/ football-boot exchange ensures equipment is recycled. As any parent knows, the cost of kit, particularly football-boots is expensive. Our young people grow so fast, new boots are sometimes purchased and replaced several times a season.
By continuing to offer an equipment exchange, used boots & kit will continue to be stored and available to individuals and teams that need them thus keeping overall costs down. This positive and proactive approach from us helps to combat poverty and inequality.
Amount Requested: £1000
Sports Equipment - £1000
Location: Kilwinning Sports Club
Proposed on behalf of: Kilwinning Rangers and Kilwinning Sports Club is at the heart of our local community. It is now home to Kilwinning Rangers, the senior football team in our town of 16,100 people. Kilwinning Sports Club – Youth Football Section is a collection of youth football teams for boys and girls aged 5 up to 20. All our teams are now following a youth football pathway or pyramid with Kilwinning Rangers sitting at its peak. The committee of volunteers at Kilwinning Rangers/ Kilwinning Sports Club all share the ethos of ‘ONE TOWN, ONE CLUB’. Whilst we hope to develop a lot of our young players to one day play for Kilwinning Rangers or other senior professional or semi-professional teams, we are just as single-minded in our vision to having as many young players continue in sport and activity, whether that be football, running, tennis or other activities on offer at our club. We believe our application encapsulates all three Essential Criteria. Health and Wellbeing Poverty and Inequality. Voice and Participation. Our application for £1000 will be used to ensure we can continue our kit and equipment for our 17 teams and to properly maintain our boot/ kit exchange and to ensure all teams have an equal opportunity to continue playing organised sport with the correct equipment. We would hope to start our project as soon as practicable and promote the exchange through our many social media accounts.
