Millport Town Hall
Investment project code: 33
Summary
Description
We will organise art/craft sessions for adults and hold Tea Dances for our older community members in the regenerated Town Hall. This will bring people together to connect with each other, learn new skills and stay active. As we want to make sure everyone can participate in the activities, regardless of ability to pay, we will use the money to cover the room let fees for these events.

Proposed on behalf of: We have consulted widely with the community to find out what activities they would like to take part in at the Town Hall and Arts/Crafts and Tea Dances were two of the activities people highlighted. We will start when the Town Hall renovations are completed, likely to be in the Spring of 2023 and the funding will provide 24 classes and 6 Tea Dances throughout the year. The activities will bring a variety of different people together to socialise, connect and learn new skills, improving individual and community well-being. We’ve applied to the Community Mental Health and Well-Being Fund for funding for an Art Tutor, but if this is unsuccessful volunteers will lead the classes.
