Dance Mafia (DMF) have been very successful in all competitions they have entered, with some world champions in the group. We are a parents fundraising group who are looking for £1000 to enable the competitions accessible to all, regardless of their financial position. Competitions take place across the whole of Britain, and can be very expensive. DMF are a very community minded club who attend/help out at many community events including charity football events, and community events such as Christmas lights Switch on/Yuletide etc. If successful this funding will be used to subsidise competition fees, costumes, and provide dance workshops focussing on health and wellbeing.
Proposed on behalf of: The dance competition season runs from Oct through to August. Dance Mafia have various competition teams that travel and compete against teams from across Britain, and the rest of the world, with the families having to cover the cost. The competitions are a fantastic experience for dancers, getting the opportunity to socialise with other dancers, while getting to visit new places and gain new experiences. Dance Mafia is a very inclusive dance school and has a strong ethos of health & wellbeing. Dancing is very good for young peoples physical and mental health. Dance Mafia Fundraising team do everything they can to raise as much funds as possible to enable the dance school to be open and inclusive to all, and not make financial concerns a barrier to participation. The benefit of Dance Mafia to the community is that the school foster great community spirit and are always keen to help out at community and charity events wherever possible, giving the full dance school the chance to participant, and not just the young people in the competition team.
