Description

We would hold a free street party on the 8th of May 2023 to celebrate the coronation of King Charles. We would like to mark this occasion by holding a street party and encourage people in the community to get together by offering a free fun fair and free food. Encouraging people from all walks of life to enjoy a free fun event in their local community.  We are also developing a community garden at Towerlands Community Centre and this would give us an audience to try and get volunteers to help develop the garden so we can grow fresh food for our the farm basket the associations food larder.

Proposed on behalf of: Bourtreehill and Broomlands Community Association (BABCA) is an independent community neighbourhood organisation that collaborate with the local authority in the management of Towerlands Community Centre in Bourtreehill South. BABCA members are all voluntary and form a committee which concentrates their efforts in Community Development and seek to deliver the aims and objectives informed in their constitution which could be relatable to Social inclusion, community wealth building, tackling physical and mental health inequalities, promoting life all learning, providing opportunities for the socially isolated and promote partnership working to name a few. Run events that bring the community together and encourage people to use the their local community centre.
