Summary
As a parent council, we work with the school to increase family engagement and create opportunities for our young people to get together outwith school times. We arrange discos, support with morning breakfast club and provide seasonal opportunities for our young people to have fun together. With rising costs, we're finding it more difficult to organise discos without asking families for a small donation. This fund would alleviate that pressure allowing the activities to go ahead this year.
Description
We organise evening discos for the pupils at halloween and in spring, costing £325 each, which covers the DJ, snacks and the hall. £650 (events in 2026)
At easter we organise an Easter bunny visit with prizes for art work and easter eggs for all the pupils. £200
We provide a yearly donation including art supplies to help the running of the Breakfast Club. £150
With year on year increased costs we would love to be able to go back to organising these events free of charge and open to all of our young people. This would allow all pupils to access fun discos and activities with their friends and school community no matter their circumstances.
Pupils have expressed enjoying the discos each year and always look forward to the next one.
How have young people been involved in shaping this project?
The pupils in the school have engaged conversations and fed back to the parent council their enjoyment and thanks for organising such events. They look forward to these yearly events with their friends and are already planning the next ones.

Project complete200 people benefitted from the funding. Having PB funding allowed us as a Parent group to help fund resources for each of our events without asking parents to pay any extra money. Having our disco meant the children could come along and have fun with their friends without the burden of extra costs. Children were able to enjoy Easter fun events and have additional recreational activities supplied at Breakfast club.
