Following the reduction in Streetscene's budget, there are a number of maintenance issues that need to be addressed by the community. This application will give us a budget to arrange these works in conjunction with other local groups.

Setting up of solar-panel power source to charge communal equipment as currently members are taking rechargeable batteries home to charge

We are a group of residents within a Sheltered Housing complex who hope to provide social events within the complex to bring people together and help prevent social isolation. 

WKEG maintain over 30 community gardens in West Kilbride. These include station planters and gardens, memorial garden, plus Catlinn, Old Mans Rest, Barony Centre, Cherry Orchard planters, library and Boyd Orr gardens. We also have 2 fields, a wood, wildflower meadow and community orchard. The group operate from Garratt Gardens where there are poly tunnels, ponds, fruit bushes and a wide range of habitats. All this is achieved entirely by a wonderful group of volunteers who meet once a week.

We are looking for funding to provide our annual Christmas lunch for the senior citizens of the villages of Kilmory and Kildonan. For many of our senior citizens it is a chance to link up with old friends and neighbours and to meet many of the new people to the villages. We provide an excellent Christmas lunch with a gift from Santa an three course lunch and an afternoon of entertainment . Free transport is also provided. This annual event promotes positive mental health and wellbeing.

Art in Mind is a twice weekly Art Group, for residents of Arran living with Mental Ill Health. It was started in 2004, by Arran Visual Arts, in Collaboration with Community Mental Health, NAC Social Work Department and Arran Community Voluntary Services. In 2023, the second group started in response to demand, funded by Arran Community Council's Scottish Power Renewables ’Beinn an Tuirc Windfarm Fund. A part time Coordinator and four new Art Tutors, were recruited to run both groups.

Funding required to help with participation in the Scottish Festival of Brass in Perth.

We would like to host 2 networking events to raise the profile of Irvine Community Council and other voluntary organisations of Irvine.
