This year as a local community centre we would like to offer families an opportunity to have breakfast with Santa free of charge to help in times of the cost of living crisis. We live in an area identified as being of multiple deprivation and some of the children and young people in our area have limited financial resources. Giving people choice in our food larder and increasing their dignity

No comments Largs Food Hub North Coast

We are Largs food hub and have recently started on Nourish Scotland's Dignity Project. We believe giving people as much choice as possible is one way to provide dignity in food provision. We would like to provide a pay forward scheme for our local church of the Nazarene which provides meals for £2 and children are free. If we provide a free ticket and encourage them to go and perhaps by going ourselves this might show that it is ok and take away the stigma of excepting charity.

Footie, Food and Fun

Over 24.7% or over 5000 children and young people live in poverty in North Ayrshire with 29% of children going to bed hungry, with many relying on school meals to get through the day. We wish to run fun football sessions for children and young people regardless of ability with the focus on fun and providing food towards a healthy diet, After the football session run by qualified coaches is finished children can come into our 50's themed diner and have a hot evening meal including fruit juice.

Larger honey harvests on the Isle of Arran!

No comments Arran Bee Group Arran

Arran Bee Group is an informal group of amateur beekeepers based on the Isle of Arran. We meet regularly to share knowledge about the science and craft of this ancient pastime and welcome new members keen to learn the first steps in keeping bees. The membership of the group is growing and we now need a mechanised way of extracting honey that can be shared across the membership to increase the supply of honey to island residents.
